                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE DOWNTOWN
                   AND NORTH CHATTANOOGA AREAS, MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN, ON THURSDAY,
                   JUNE 10, 1993, FOR THE "TENNESSEE SPORTSFEST
                   5K ROAD RACE" SPONSORED BY THE CHATTANOOGA
                   TRACK CLUB, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closure of the westbound lane of East 5th Street from
       the McClellan Gym driveway (Lansing Street) to Douglas Street,
       northbound Mabel Street from East 5th Street to East 3rd Street,
       the north curblane of East 3rd Street from Mabel Street to Walnut 

       Street, northbound Walnut Street from East 3rd Street to the
       Walnut Street Bridge, the eastbound curblane of Frazier Avenue
       from Walnut Street to Fehn Drive, Tremont Street from Frazier
       Avenue to River Street, River Street from Tremont Street to Fehn
       Drive, Fehn Drive from River Street to Frazier Avenue from 6:30
       P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 10, 1993 for the presentation 

       of the "Tennessee Sportsfest 5K Road Race" sponsored by the
       Chattanooga Track Club.  The sponsors are responsible for the
       installation and removal of all traffic control devices (such as
       cones, barricades, signs, etc.) in accordance with the traffic

       control plan attached hereto.  The sponsors shall provide, at all 

       times, an access lane for emergency vehicles.
